MSI-USMarie Stopes International (MSI) ensures that women have access to adequate reproductive health care and family planning services. This gives women and families more control over their destiny — a greater chance of reaching their potential, contributing to the economy, and participating in their communities. But more than 200 million of the world’s poorest and most vulnerable women lack access to this basic healthcare. As a result they may be burdened with too many children, forced to abandon educational pursuits, and face life-threatening health complications. Founded in 1976, MSI has evolved from the first-ever family planning clinic in the UK opened by Marie Stopes in 1921 to a global network with operations in 42 countries in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Latin America and Europe. MSI has over 7,000 employees, the majority of which are locally hired clinical and administrative staff.
