The Georges Malaika Foundation (GMF) is a New York based organization working to empower through education. The organization operates in Kalebuka, in the Democratic Republic of Congo. GMF is dedicated to the advancement of African communities by providing educational opportunities to young girls. At GMF we mobilize resources so that these girls can receive the best schooling possible, providing them with greater choices, opportunities, and the capacity to make informed decisions. GMF built and operates the Georges Malaika School for Girls, a free accredited school that is educating 180 girls. GMF provides a fully comprehensive program for the girls which includes not only tuition, but also school supplies, uniforms, art and theater classes, two healthy meals a day and physical activities twice a week. With the exception of the locally hired teachers and support staff, GMF is wholly operated by unpaid experts and volunteers from the public and private sector.Projects Funded On Catapult
