Latinas are one of the fastest-growing groups of entrepreneurs in the United States.

Why we care: Latinas often lack the training and access to capital that are necessary to grow businesses.

How we’re solving this: Offering microloans to low-income Latina entrepreneurs in California and Texas. The Foundation makes best efforts to target entrepreneurs living in counties with food insecurity rates at or above 20% and who have an income at or below 185% of the federal poverty level.

Every woman who receives a microloan from the Eva Longoria Foundation must complete a series of one-on-one consultations with a counselor to help her develop a strong business plan and master basic financial skills.

These entrepreneurs also participate in workshops that address financial literacy, accounting and building credit, among other topics.
