Build leadership skills among our existing Hollaback! Site Leaders so that each and every one of them is prepared to continue the work of ending street harassment.
Why we care: We want young feminist leaders to be prepared to face the challenges that arise when tackling the many issues that fall within gender based violence, including street harassment.
How we’re solving this: Continue to train the 250+ young global leaders in ending street harassment through regular webinars, connecting them with other leading thinkers and activists in the feminist movement.
Hollaback! knows that long-term involvement in ending gender based violence requires continued training and capacity building so that young feminist leaders today grow into the feminist leaders of tomorrow.
Following the launch of their city’s Hollaback! site, leaders receive will twice-monthly webinar trainings from leaders in the field of ending gender-based violence around the world.
Our site leaders will build skills, including team-building and coalition-building; community organizing and advocacy (including how to build a base, develop a legislative agenda, and meet with legislators); technological literacy and organizing skills; public speaking as it relates to leading community workshops and developing testimony; and event organizing: how to coordinate, manage and publicize a public event.
