AWAKENING is a ZAG Line Pictures production in association with Fork Films, Nida’a al Nissa Productions, and the Artemis Rising Foundation. The Center for Independent Documentary is the project’s fiscal sponsor. The creative team of ZAG Line Pictures is led by Abigail Disney and Gini Reticker, Producer and Director, respectively, of the award-winning documentary Pray the Devil Back to Hell and Executive Producers of the PBS special series Women, War & Peace; and Iraqi-born Zainab Salbi, Founder of Women for Women International and Nida’a al Nissa Productions. This dynamic trio is collaborating with local production companies and personnel in the Middle East and North Africa.
