Association Pesinet

Association Pesinet’s mission is to stop the preventable deaths of young children by bringing health services to the doorstep of families. Our network of mobile agents visits the home of subscribed children several times a month to weigh and measure the child and collect other key information on breastfeeding patterns, fever, diarrhea, etc. The agent then sends this key information by mobile phone to the closest doctor who reviews the health profiles of the children every day. When the doctor detects an abnormality, he sends for the child and Association Pesinet helps cover the costs of care. Association Pesinet’s mobile agents also organize regular group meetings to educate mothers on health and hygiene for their children. The service had been operating in Mali since 2007 and is now being extended to Burkina Faso.
